Privacy Policy

downpayment.ai (“we,” “us,” “our”) is an educational tool that helps prospective home buyers discover down payment assistance (DPA) programs they may qualify for and, when requested, connect with a licensed mortgage professional. We are not a lender, broker, or mortgage originator.

We collect only what we need to help you find programs:

• Conversation answers — state, city or county, occupation, approximate household income range, approximate credit score range, and whether you’re working with a lender.
• Contact details (only if you choose to be connected with a loan officer) — first name, email address, and optionally phone number.
• Technical data — a randomly generated session identifier stored in your browser, plus standard server logs (IP, user agent, timestamps) used to operate the service.

We never ask for or store Social Security Numbers, date of birth, full bank account numbers, or full credit card numbers. Please do not share that information in chat.

• To match you with DPA programs that may apply to you.
• To route your contact information to a licensed loan officer in your state when you ask to be connected.
• To send transactional emails (program summaries, introductions to your matched loan officer, or notifications when your state becomes supported).
• To monitor reliability, prevent abuse, and improve the service.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Conversations are processed by an AI assistant via the Lovable AI Gateway in order to generate responses. The system prompt prohibits the AI from referencing protected characteristics under the Fair Housing Act (race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, familial status) and from collecting sensitive identifiers such as Social Security Numbers.

When you opt in to be connected, we share your conversation profile and contact details with the loan officer routed to your state. They are independently licensed mortgage professionals and their use of your information is governed by their own privacy practices and applicable law.

Conversation data is retained to operate the service and to give your matched loan officer context. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing hello@downpayment.ai.

Data is stored in an encrypted, access-controlled backend. Row-level security policies restrict access so that loan officers can only see leads routed to them. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact hello@downpayment.ai.

downpayment.ai is intended for adults considering home purchase. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
